Living Better: Relief from Water Retention

I’ve never met a woman who didn’t retain water once in a while. But if you’d rather not pop pills to combat water retention, I have a natural diuretic remedy for you: Lemon, nature’s diuretic. 

Each morning upon awakening, heat approximately 6 ounces of pure water in the microwave. Squeeze the juice of ½ of a lemon into the water and slowly sip while you start your day. (Although the tartness of the lemon may make your lips pucker, don’t add sweetener!) Give the lemon water a little bit of time to digest before having breakfast. 

Before you know it, your body will begin to naturally eliminate that water bloat.
